Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial zone (the Zone) was started in May 1992 and was approved by Shanghai Municipal Government to be a municipality-level industrial zone in August 1994.The programmed area of the zone is 26.88 square kilometers. The zone lies in the south of Pudong New Area and on the southern and northern sides of the Outer ring (Pudong) of Shanghai. It neighbors the famous Zhoupu town on the South, Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park on the North, Pudong International Airport on the East and Xupu Bridge on the West. The zone enjoys a perfect geographic location with Nanpu Bridge lying only 8 kilometers away and The People's Square 10 kilometers away. The Managing Board of Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone is an overall administration agency over the daily operations of the zone on behalf of Nanhui District Government.
The geographic location
Shanghai Nanhui Kangqiao Industrial Zone (the zone) lies in the south of Pudong New Area and on the southern and northern sides of the Outer ring (Pudong) of Shanghai. It neighbors the famous Zhoupu town on the South, Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park on the North, Pudong International Airport on the East and Xupu Bridge on the West. The zone enjoys a perfect geographic location with Nanpu Bridge lying only 8 kilometers away and The People's Square 10 kilometers away. The zone enjoys a comprehensive advantage in water, road and air transportation. Shanghai-Nanhui Highway with 6 lanes is an essential ribbon connecting the zone and Shanghai urban area and the provinces of south China. The urban Outer Ring with 8 lanes going through the zone is the main way leading to Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The waterway in the zone links the Yangtze River and East Sea. Pudong International Airport in the east of the zone and Hongqiao International Airport in west are important international and domestic air transportation hub.

There are one 220 K.V substation and four 35 K.V substations with an installed capacity of 160,000KVA

Water supply: 120,000 cubic meters per day; Water drainage: 120,000 cubic meters per day; Sewage drainage: 120,000 cubic meters per day

Installed capacity for program-controlled telephone: 100,000 lines; ADSL and FTTB broadband access to internet is available
Gas
The daily gas supply capability in the zone: 50,000 cubic meters
Roads
The total length of district-level or above roads within the zone is 46.7 kilometers, with 17.4 kilometers per square kilometers |
