Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone was launched in 1992 and subsequently developed into a Municipality-level industrial park in September 1994, upon the approval of Shanghai Municipal Government. The programmed area of Jiading Industrial Zone is 24.8 square kilometers with the initial phase of 8.4 square kilometers. Jiading Industrial Zone will be developed into a high-level industrial park with high technology as the leading sector, modern industry as the main target and with the secondary and social & public causes combined.
The geographic location
Airport: Hongqiao International Airport is 25 kilometers away and it takes 15 minutes driving there and Pudong International Airport 75 kilometers away and 45 minutes driving there. Harbor: Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone (the zone) is 25 kilometers away from Shanghai Zhanghuabang International Container Terminal. Railway: the zone is 6 kilometers away from Nanxiang Trains Grouping Station, the largest railway freight transportation hub in Northeast China. Road: the zone lies in the transportation hub of northern Shanghai. Shanghai Suburban Ring runs across the zone. Shanghai-Jiading Expressway goes directly to the zone. Shanghai-Nanking, Shanghai-Hangzhou, Tongshan-Sanya expressways and the expresswat alongside Yangtze River can lead to the north of China and Yangtze River basin. Water transportation: 300-tonnage Ships can be navigable in Yunzaobang, Hengli River and Lianqi River.
The basic infrastructure
Water
Daily water supply capacity is 140,000 tons and the quality of the water supplies meets the กฐ7 standards worked out by WHO
Electricity
A double-way power supply network is in operation with the help of Shidongkou Power Plant and East China Power Network. At the initial stage, one 220 K.V transformation substation and three 35 K.V transformation substations have been complete with power supply capacity reaching 200 KVA.
Gas
Shanghai pipe-delivered gas is in use in the zone. A gas cabinet of 54,000 cubic meters has been completed.
Telecommunications
Optical fiber is used in the telecommunications facilities. Besides the general telecommunications services and mobile telecommunications services, the services in ADSL, FTTB broadband and data & vision transmission are available as well.
Road
A network of roads has taken shape. Yecheng Road, forty-meters in breadth is the main way connecting Shanghai-Jiading Expressway.
